      H. H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has pledged his eyes on 10 Sept 2009 in the programme organized by B. W. Lions Superspeciality Eye Hospital, Bangalore.

      He said that "Every one of us owns something from this society. It is our duty to return it back. What can be better then donating our eyes after departing from this world? The organ transplantation is not new to our country. As you know Lord Shiva had transplanted Lord Ganesha's head. Donate eyes and gift sight".

Zyoptix Lasik Laser System:
      1st July, 2002 was a historic day for the hospital. In a glittering function, the renovated hospital was inaugurated by Sri. S. M. Krishna, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka in the presence of men of distinction and honour. Symbolically, it was an occasion to herald the newer initiatives of the hospital, in tune with the emerging technologies in the field of eye-care. It was an occasion of recognition of the efforts and infusing of encouragement.

      The Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri. S. M. Krishna initiated the technology up gradation process by himself switching on a dew high technology machines and by releasing the appeal for institutional and corporate funding for the ambitious ZYOPTIX LASIK LASER SYSTEM.

      It is fervently hoped that the encouraging words of the Head of State and the guests at the function will enable fructification of our initiatives in the shortest time.

      Zyoptix Lasik Laser System manufactured by world leaders Bausch & Lomb has been installed. This system will enable people with refractive problems to permanently get rid of spectacles or contact lenses through a Five to Ten minutes procedure by the Lasik System which is totally computerized. The induction of this system in hospital will make the hitherto costly procedure affordable to middle & poorer classes of society.
